A few ground-rules:

01. As for what type of thing you should be prompting here, this is a Dean-focused hurt/comfort community, so Dean should be the one in the hurt/comforted role. Your prompts may involve sick!Dean, (yes, please!) angsty!Dean, hurt!Dean, or anything else that results in Dean being on the receiving end of hurt/comfort.

02. Comment to this post with your desired characters or pairings, if any, and a prompt. All genres/pairings are welcome, however this is not an RPF meme. Please focus on the fictional characters only.

Example A: “Sam, Dean, gen, set in season 4. PTSD!Dean has a flashback to hell on a hunt and almost gets himself and Sam killed. Cue guilty, upset Dean and awesome, comforting Sam.”
Example B: “Sam/Dean, fever. Dean has the chills and there is cuddling, naaw.”

03. You can leave as many prompts as you like, but one prompt per comment, please. If you've got a few, comment with each separately.

04. Your prompts can be as short or as detailed as you’d like.

05. Scroll through the comments and when/if you find a prompt you like, write a fic or create some art in reply to the comment.

06. More than one comment-fic response to a prompt is totally acceptable, and in fact encouraged. The more fic, the better!

10. No spoilers for upcoming episodes, please. If you're prompting something from a recently aired episode, please be courteous and note that there may be spoilers before you get to the main part of your request. Or you can use the following code. Just put your prompt/text where it says to.

Yes! So much. And maybe his pain tolerance hasn't reset, so he keeps getting little twinges and then his body collapses like that little scratch is a big deal.

(kind of a repost? Yes. A repost.)

In 1983, after his mother's death, Dean gained an imaginary friend. His friend was kind, supportive, and Dean didn't have to talk to anyone else whenever he was around. John let it slide for a while, but when he realized that Dean was showing no signs of letting him go, John gave some tough love to get his kid's head back on straight.

It's 2009, and Michael's back. He's not as nice as Dean remembers.

In hell Dean spent a lot of time retreating into his mind as much as he could/separating himself from physical pain and damaging words/Alistair’s mind games.

In season seven or beyond when he finally reaches his limit, he retreats back inside himself again, presenting as non-responsive/catatonic. Sam knew his brother was in trouble, but he never expected this.

Dean is cursed. The worst part isn't even how helpless he is under the near constant pain that overwhelms his senses and keeps aggravating his latent PTSD. No, the worst part is that it's actually contagious through touch and Sam can't even physically comfort him or bring him out of the flashbacks the curse keeps triggering. Slash or gen.

They are camping/in the middle of nowhere on a hunt and Dean is getting sick, resulting in SHARED SLEEPING BAGS. <3 Gen cuddling or Sam/Dean would be loved and cherished.

Gen. Any season.

Dean's vision starts to deteriorate and he has to wear glasses. Picking out frames just adds insult to injury. Sam tries to cheer him up by fooling around with the different pairs of glasses.

Dean wakes up with the worst headache ever. It's so bad that he can't lift his head from the pillow without almost passing out. Sam tries his best to help his brother, but he doesn't know how. Sam's concern goes over the roof when Dean starts crying, and he never heard Dean crying like this before.

Gen. They're miles from civilization and a car, and Sam is trapped. Dean can't free Sam from wherever he's trapped at (cave/hole in the ground/whatever), and his phone is lost/broken/has no signal. Dean realizes that he has to walk miles and miles across wilderness to go find help. The trouble is that Dean is in bad shape from an injury, but he forces himself to keep going.

Stanford Era … Dean has a panic attack on a routine hunt (the cause can be fire, small spaces, anything you like). John looks after him, but he’s all bewildered etc, like, Kiddo, we’ve done this a hundred times before and it’s never been a problem… Wrong! It’s always been a problem, it’s just Sam’s always been there to keep Dean calm.

Dean faints at the sight of blood. Sam’s like, What the fuck just happened? Provide reasons, or don’t. Either way, Sam is one part amused, two parts tender. Dean is mostly just indignant. And lightheaded. (And pretty.)

The price for Sam’s soul wasn’t one day as Death – it was one day a week/month/whatevs for the rest of Dean’s life. It starts to take its toll. Dean is exhausted and confused and too scared to touch Sam in case he reaps him too. An angry, guilty, gentle Sam brings his brother back each time.

Dean is in the throes of a midlife crisis and Sam & Dean are in the middle of a hunt. Somehow, there is a teenager involved who is rude to Dean and needles him about his age/ makes a snide comment about his age. To top it all, in the midst of this hunt, Dean gets injured which either makes him limp / he has to use a cane, which makes him feel, well...old!

So, midlife crisis + snide comments + an injury= Pissed off Dean= Enter Sam who makes it all better. Gen, please.

Oh, I can so "picture" this fic. :D

There's a reason you shouldn't eat too much candy around Halloween and when Dean makes a small piggy of himself on a particular batch he got at this party he just happened to amble into after following a pretty busty asian beauty in a devil costume to this party down the end of the street.

AS the result of the hang over from hell, Sam, for a start gets a seperate room, down the other end of the hotel. Until one of the maids finds Dean on the floor, unconscious.

His bowles are still going though.

Turns out someone "screwed" with the food at that "tricky" party Dean attended the night before.

Sam gets Dean to a hospital and doesn't leave his brother's side. I think a towering scary Sam has givine the nurses the hint.

After enlisting Cas, they find out it's not down to Gabriel, and Gabriel wants to make sure his drinking butddy is ont he mend too, and stays with Dean while his brother and Sam go find the thing that did it.

Gabriel and his own brand of special healing for Dean in this one. I'll leave that up to you on how he does it. Slash; more than welcome.

I'm listening to Patton Oswalt's Werewolves adn Lollipops, so some of my prompts might be funny, sick and or strange tonight.

"Spinkle some fries on those cupcakes." (credit Patton OSwalt).

Dean hates himself. After all the shit he's been through, who could blame him. Rather than taking the cowardly way out of his "Gun. Mouth. Now." He takes on binge eating.

Sam doesn't tkae much notice of it, because let's face it, Dean is a pig.

That is until one night, Sam is woken up by the sound of realching and he realises, no Dean's not a pig, Dean has problems.

Why Dean doesn't particularly like celebrating birthdays, particuarly his own.

His Dad in his all his drunken, douchbagery joy ruined Dean's 12th birthday. Dean's never spoken of it, Sammy barely remembers it. It's not until his birthday when Gabriel gives Dean something, he just locks himself in the bathroom and falls apart while sam tries to talk him out.

Cas is called and Gabriel's more than a little upset he upset Dean.

Cas goes inside the bathroom to console his charge, who while he loves what Gabriel gave him, he hates the memory it unleashed.

"Dean, I think we should talk about this." Cas opens the door to the bathroom and reasures Dean that only healing can come out of this. "No matter how bad it is, we'll help you through this."

Move over Nicole Ritchie and other wantabe's Paris has a new BFF. Dean Winchester.

"Hey don't look at me, I didn't touch him. This ain't my shit." Gabriel states when he's confronted by an irate Sam and Castiel.

Dean's driving Paris' pretty new pink car around and it's the new season of The Simple Life. Trouble is. Dean is totally sounding like Paris' type of person, though in his head he's screaming because if he could control what's happened to him, he'd drive that car of hers off the nearest cliff. Paris even convinced him he'd look hot in pink. "I so do, Paris. You are so right. We look so hot."

Gabriel's pretty sure it's not a possession. Him, Cas and Sam have become avid fans, not that they'll admit that to anyone else, or each other for that matter. It's reseach, damn it.

Gabriel also thinks this might be a little present from Balthazar.

How Gabe, Cas and Sam get Dean free and re-wire him, back to his old self, because when they get him back, he's still in Paris-itis mode.

Cas taps Dean's mind and reads how suicidal his charge is as the result of this. The angel of the Lord is more than a little upset about it, and will not wear the pink sweater Dean bought him.


Dean is upset that the others don't share his enthusiam for pink. "Pink is awesome. You're all making me so sad right now. Sammy give me back my phone. I need to call my BFF." Sayin No to SimpleLifeDean makes him more than miserable.

John would leave for months on end and that would be his line to other hunters he brought back with him, if Dean was making dinner for him and Sammy. "Would you look at that, my little homemaker is making dinner." And other lines like that.

Dean never took anything by it as a kid.


Now that he's older however, that's different. While his Dad never did anything to him, it was just, something in the back of Dean's mind. Was there something else behind that?

One night he wakes up in a strange room, it takes him a while but then he remembers it. It's one of the hunters their Dad used to drop him and Sammy off wiht and there was his Dad. He couldn't see Dean of course and the angel who sits with him isn't Cas.

"I was John guardian and there are things you don't know Dean. You couldn't know them Dean, especially when you were in your teens. That's when I would take John "hunting". Dean's a little worried what the angel means, until he watches his Dad talking to another angel in the room. He really doesn't like what he hears.


When Dean returns, he's empty like the coid, a shell of his former self and not even Gabriel can get inisde. Angsty Sam and Castiel, go seeking out the only other angel they know who might help Dean. Balthazar.

"Alright, but what's in it for me?" Balthazar states.

Dean chokes out anything he wants, but what was it Dean heard and up to you if Balthazar bothers getting his "payment". He is the only angel who can heal Dean from this after all; he was the angel who took him there.

This is why John you never leave your kids with strangers.

Bobby told John he should have his kids with him and not leave them with strangers. Did he listen? No, he did not and while Dean was a teenager when it happened. Though housekeeper that John left them in the care of, wasn't nice, not nice at all, adn while Dean was used to Sammy kicking off, he would defend his little borther, even cover his younger brother to take the blows from thsi woman.

Dean covered up the bruises and cuts, from a fight he got in at school. Sammy knew otherwise, but never said anything of it. They never visited the same place twice. Hunters never did.


Until Dean comes across the woman years later and freezes up. Sammy protect Dean from the woman's taunts and says loud enough for the whole bar she used to abuse them when they were kids.

Maybe she's an agent for the YED that was still out there and was the last person ohn should have left his kids with.

Up to you how Sammy helps Dean unfreeze, get back to the hotel and deal with it.

Alistar enjoys watching Dean cry. Sometimes he doesn't even have to touch Dean to with a razor to make him cry. He's found the joy of just words alone, are far more sharp and destroying than any of the impliments in his toy chest and it warms his black demon heart when Dean chokes back tears and begs for him to shut up. Stop it, and anything else he whimpers out when the bastard keeps going.

So when Dean gets any taunts from other hunters when he returns, he just breaks down. When it gets esepcially bad at Ellen's Roadhouse, she closes up the bar and kicks those hunters who upset him out. "You're all banned for a month, you selfish bastards."

Ellen takes Dean in for a while, while Sam and Jo go hunting. A lead that Alistar is topside and those two intend to gank his ass, before the angels get him.

Ellen tends to Dean like he's her own flesh and blood, and Dean opens up about Hell to Ellen. Who listens without judgement, except for the demons, but not for Dean.


I need some Ellen being awesome and looking after Dean.

Dean as we know, loves the magic fingers. So when they find a hotel that has the "Ultimate Magic Fingers" room, Dean won't relent until they book a room there.

Trouble is, certain beds are cursed. To the point where quarters can get stuck and people are unable to get off the beds. Turns out the beds, have a mind of their own and scoop up their victims and keep them abord the ride until they are no more.

Sam's bed is like an ordinary bed and settles down to do some reading while he tries to ignore Dean on his bed. Not easy when Dean starts holloaring about being suffocated and then Sam has to save his brother from a killer bed that's trying to eat him.

How would one kill a bed like that, when the whole hotel is full of beds like that?

Dean is bloody and has scratches, and hiding behind Sam.


ProtetiveSammy being awesome and kicking ass. You work out how he gets Dean through this.

Not the best way to be spending his time. Dean knows he's screwed. He was lured to this haunted house and as a result, is being held hostage by two clowns who used a projector of a ghost to lure him. Granted he was pretty wasted and everything seemed to say "ghost" so off he went.

He knows Sammy won't save him because there are clowns and Sammy freaking hates clowns.

That's for damned sure, but Sammy has a plan. It's called a sniper's rifle, but what Sammy sees through the sight of the rifle, well. He wells up and can't take the shot.

There is such a thing as clown porn, and Dean's the star. Not by choice however.


Castiel to the rescue after a very upset Sam calls the angel down for help, and you get to work out how Cas goes about kicking ass and how he helps Dean, and Sam too.

Cas has two traumatised and broken Winchesters to deal with. Well Sam's truamatised, so Dean but he's oh so broken in all the wrong ways.
