A few ground-rules:

01. As for what type of thing you should be prompting here, this is a Dean-focused hurt/comfort community, so Dean should be the one in the hurt/comforted role. Your prompts may involve sick!Dean, (yes, please!) angsty!Dean, hurt!Dean, or anything else that results in Dean being on the receiving end of hurt/comfort.

02. Comment to this post with your desired characters or pairings, if any, and a prompt. All genres/pairings are welcome, however this is not an RPF meme. Please focus on the fictional characters only.

Example A: “Sam, Dean, gen, set in season 4. PTSD!Dean has a flashback to hell on a hunt and almost gets himself and Sam killed. Cue guilty, upset Dean and awesome, comforting Sam.”
Example B: “Sam/Dean, fever. Dean has the chills and there is cuddling, naaw.”

03. You can leave as many prompts as you like, but one prompt per comment, please. If you've got a few, comment with each separately.

04. Your prompts can be as short or as detailed as you’d like.

05. Scroll through the comments and when/if you find a prompt you like, write a fic or create some art in reply to the comment.

06. More than one comment-fic response to a prompt is totally acceptable, and in fact encouraged. The more fic, the better!

07. Art submissions are very much accepted too! Art larger than 800 px or so should be posted as a thumbnail that links back to the full art, please.

08. When replying to a prompt with your comment-fic or art, put 'FILLED' in your subject line as well as warning for anything that might be triggering, such as non-con, self-harm, etc. You can add anything else you want too, ie: a title if you have one/part numbers. So, your subject line should look something like this:

FILLED: Title, Character(s), genre/pairing(s), Rating, Warning(s) - if any

For further clarification:

Example: FILLED: Untitled, Dean and Sam, gen, PG-13, self-harm

It’s not a big deal if you don't do all of this, but using 'FILLED' as well as warnings will make it easier for people to find your fic, and for the mods when we’re compiling the masterlist.

09. Anonymous posting is enabled in case you’re embarrassed by your schmoopiest of schmoopy hurt/comfort fantasies or something, haha. IP logging will also be off during the weeks the meme is at it’s most active.

10. No spoilers for upcoming episodes, please. If you're prompting something from a recently aired episode, please be courteous and note that there may be spoilers before you get to the main part of your request. Or you can use the following code. Just put your prompt/text where it says to.

So back when the boys biggest problem was YED, Dean was dying from failing heart and faith healer "healed" him. So AU where Dean wasn't healed, someone else was. Maybe that blonde girl. Dean is dying, Sam is loosing his brother, a lot of man!pain and boys trying to be strong for each other. And in a couple of weeks Dean naturally dies Of course as far as Heaven plans go - he wasn't supposed. So they change history or resurrect him or something.

Sam is looking for clean socks and goes into Dean's duffel bag without asking. He finds a small metal box, and curiosity gets the better of him and he opens it.

What Sam finds in the box is up to the author.

Dean catches Sam and is furious that Sam invaded his privacy.

Because you can never have to many smart Dean stories.

Sam is going through a bunch of Bobby's papers and comes across a membership certificate for Mensa with Dean's name on it.

He tries to ask Dean about it,but Dean gets all pissy and hurt when Sam calls it a fake. Dean has to prove that its real. Turns out that Dean is not surfing porn when he's on the computer. Sam has some major sucking up to do.

So I'm just reading purple_carpet's recent John bb. It gave me this idea:

Over the years, starting with the fire in Lawrence, Dean has suffered from mutism. Due to the recent developments the same thing happens.

Idk, I love the idea of Dean having no more defences and reacting by just not talking at all.

When Sam and Dean finally quit hunting and settle down, Dean's drinking problem gets even worse. He doesn't have to worry about driving for hours upon end or being able to shoot accurately. Life now involves a lot of sitting on the couch/porch and getting shitfaced. Sam finally realizes that Dean's drinking problem is an actual problem.

I would prefer if Dean is not very receptive to help and doesn't want to change, but you can take the prompt any way you want to.

AU. Season 1 or 2.

Dean got injured, and now he will spend the rest of his life in a wheelchair. It was hard for him to accept, but he adjusted. Because Sam was there for him. Sam got him through the dark, depressing days, and now they are finally settled down and living almost a normal life. Dean is grateful. Dean loves his brother. But if Sam doesn't back off, Dean is going to KILL HIM.

Because Sam is driving him crazy. He is always there and so sincere and so helpful. Clearing things out of Dean's path. Grumbling about places that are not ADA compliant. Waking up and checking if he hears the slightest noise from Dean's room. Handing him things before Dean can reach them. Ready to kill someone who might stare at his brother too long. Knocking on the door if Dean takes too long in the bathroom. Insisting that "No, it didn't hurt" when Dean accidently ran over his foot. Not standing in the right place when Dean wanted to do it on purpose.

Dean is frustrated and guilty at the same time. He only wants a little space. Meanwhile, Sam is worried that Dean is still depressed over the fact that he will never be a hunter again. Eventually, someone gets a clue before there is brotherly bloodshed. But they're Winchesters, you know, so it's kind of close.

This one is inspired by the last prompt, so, warning for talk of mental illness.

Physical symptoms are common in depression, and, in fact, vague aches and pain are often the presenting symptoms of depression. These symptoms include chronic joint pain, limb pain, back pain, gastrointestinal problems, tiredness, sleep disturbances, psychomotor activity changes, and appetite changes. A high percentage of patients with depression who seek treatment in a primary care setting report only physical symptoms, which can make depression very difficult to diagnose.

Yeah. They think it’s a physical problem at first, but it’s more than that. I’d prefer it to be set during current canon or later, but will love it alll. Any genre/pairing.

Post-hell, pre-Leviathan Dean has eczema.

He has random patches on his body that have always been there since he was a kid, but then he starts to get it on his face. He ignores Sam's attempts to get him to do something about it, even though it's itchy and it cracks and hurts, because he went to Hell dammit, he's been through worse and he can deal.

It ends up that a large patch of his face is covered in inflamed, angry eczema. People start treating him different: staring, thinking it's okay to ask him 'what's wrong with your face?' and 'are you contagious?' He acts like it doesn't bother him and he withdraws further into himself, getting really defensive and confrontational when anyone comments on his face.

Sam ends up hauling him to Bobby's when he punches someone out for commenting on his eczema. Bobby finally gets it out of him that Dean feels like he deserves to look like a monster for what he did in Hell. Cue Bobby and Sam comfort and Dean maybe finally getting his face back.

(in case you couldn't tell, prompter has eczema and is having a rough time, so projects feelings onto Dean!)

Sam wakes up in the middle of the night. He sees Dean doing something he finds really creepy and not inline with his view of his brother, like maybe crying really hard or self harming or something? So he doesn't do anything and goes back to sleep thinking it's a nightmare. But in the morning he finds out it really did happen (or it really did happen but Dean convinces him it didn't).

Unknown to Sam, Dean has been reliant on anti-anxiety medication since he got back from Hell. Since it's Dean, reliant means he's been pretty much taking pills every couple of hours to keep himself calm and functional, for a long time now.

When he can't get away from Sam long enough to get to a pharmacy, he takes some of the stockpile of tranquillisers or painkillers they keep in their medical kit. When those are out, he drinks til he passes out, which has led to the drinking s7 style. If he isn't taking his meds/drinking/etc he gets really bad panic attacks and flashbacks. Sam is unaware of any of this, or so his brother thinks.

One day he wakes up to find that Sam has thrown out all his pills, painkillers, tranqs and booze: he's decided it's time for his brother to sober up. Dean tries to warn him how bad things will get, but Sam still isn't prepared for what happens.

Points if Sam gives in and gives Dean pills/booze because of how bad it gets. Maybe he decides Dean being stable/functional is more important than being sober.

OMG this. So much. This is practically everything I've been missing from show since season 4!! So totally head canon!

(If only show was to show us this Dean-post-hell-PTSD!)

Love can sometimes bloom in the strangest of circumstance, like Hell. Somehow Dean and Bela fall in love in Hell, Dean gets out, Bela does not. Dean misses her and feels guilty that she is still there while he is topside.

This could be a crack fic if you wish but I don't think it has to be.

Post 7.17.

Dean is still mourning Bobby, he just lost Castiel again, and Frank, their best chance of tracking down the Leviathans, is dead. He's stressed out and tired, and just generally sick of all of this crap. Now, to top it off, he actually is sick--sneezy, feverish, all of that. He isn't taking it well.

Cue Sam, being awesome--wrapping Dean in blankets when he's cold, wetting washcloths when he's hot. Being all calm and soothing, and totally not freaking out when Dean starts breaking down from all the stress. And then maybe it's Easter, and after Dean's fever breaks they eat chocolate and Don't Talk about what just happened.

Dean used to leave his bed and walk away from motel rooms and cottages since he was 5 until he was say 15.

John is not a bad father -he's not- but sometimes the outside was too dangerous, or the monster of the week could be lurking around, so he tied Dean by the ankles or the wrists (or maybe both) when Dean showed signs of maybe waking up that night.

Howoever I don't want the story to focus on Dean, but on Sam, who's now 22-23 and just found out.

Dean is sick and bored and siiiiick, and he somehow ends up with a bunch of lego, and spikes a fever and builds something super-complex, and then when he's better he and Sam look at it and marvel and are maybe slightly scared because it's a work of EXTREME LEGO GENIUS.

I'd like to see a fic where for reasons unknown, John dies (or maybe just injured ^^;) and Bobby can't take care of the kids (who are 13/9) and father Murphy is also somewhat not there, so Dean and Sam end up in the hands of Caleb!
:P

Yeah, I kinda like that guy, and in that glorious fic 'bortherhood' -though awesome- he's a little too young for my taste.

I think sometimes the show falls a bit short of providing us with the h/c we crave!!:-)

I always thought Dean came off a bit too lightly after his fall/dive from the bridge in the pilot episode. I know the disheveled Dean being dragged backwards into the motel by Sam was oh so cute and hilarious but what if Dean hadn't been able to just walk away from the fall?

What if Dean hadn't been able to save Lucas from drowning and the boy he pulled from the depths of the lake was already dead in his arms! A distraught Dean clinging to Lucas's body with Sam/EMT's trying to talk him down enough to allow them to take the boy from him please.

When you're sleep-deprived, you don't really feel pain all that much. Dean decides to use this as a coping mechanism.

This could work at any time from, say, after the shtriga incident to S7, but I have a soft spot for pre-series. :)

Dean taught himself to read at the age of four. Even after November the second, the first sign John got that he was perhaps beginning to recover was that he'd quietly read whatever he got his hands on - which, naturally, wasn't much. And then Sammy started to grow up, and by the time he was four he'd got extremely vocal about how happy books made him - so Dean started giving Sammy all the books there were to be had, and naturally Sammy loved them so much he could never even ask to borrow them. And so Dean was good with the weapons and Sammy with the books, and after a while life just went on that way. Naturally no one realized the yearning locked away inside Dean - least of all Dean himself.

Except that Show!Dean has read Vonnegut, so clearly he sekritly spends time in the library, *cough*, previewing the books he buys for Sammy. You know, for quality.

Dean is super-susceptible to the nap-inducing powers of sunbeams. Sam shamelessly uses this to his advantage on his sickie, sleep-deprived bro.
